Version 1.4.3 is a maintenance release. It fixes saving settings on firewall-protected hosts, a conflict with other plugins on servers without the PHP bcmath extension, and false scheduling warnings.
Fixes
- Saving on firewall-protected hosts: On hosts with a web application firewall, such as WordPress.com, saving settings in the new interface could fail with “The response is not a valid JSON response”. The bad-signature list is now sent encoded, as the Classic interface always did. Settings import and export are covered too.
- Servers without bcmath: Versions 1.4.0 to 1.4.2 defined global bcmath functions on these servers that always failed, which broke other plugins that use them, such as saving rules in Woo Discount Rules. IP Location Block no longer defines global functions, and IPv6 lookups with the local IP2Location database keep working.
- Hosts without direct file access: The WordPress FTP credentials form no longer appears in front of pages and admin requests. It also caused “Failed to load settings” in the new interface.
- Scheduled tasks: Diagnostics no longer report a missing database update schedule on sites that don’t use a local database. Missing database update and cleanup schedules are now recreated automatically.
Improvements
- “Failed to load settings” and failed saves now name the request that failed and explain the likely cause.
- System Info reports BC Math only when the PHP extension is installed.
Compatibility
- Requires WordPress 6.5 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer. No settings changes are needed.
If something still doesn’t work, see Troubleshooting and Run diagnostics. The bad-signature list is described in Validation rules and behavior.
